Panel on Gender Equity & Equal Pay

The great Billie Jean King became a pioneer for equal prize money when she won the women’s singles title at the 1972 US Open. She unequivocally demanded that the following year’s US Open pay men’s and women’s players equally. The 2023 US Open marks fifty years since this important milestone in history. Join Golden Gate Open for a curated panel discussion on what happens – and why it matters beyond the court – when competition is built on a foundation of equality.
